A fun, open race day for skiers and boarders under 18.
THE 2026 TONGARIRO JUNIORS WILL BE HELD AT WHAKAPAPA ON SATURDAY 26 SEPTEMBER.
The Tongariro Juniors alpine race is one of the best things about the club. It's a relaxed, family‑friendly race day open to all young skiers and boarders under 18.
Whether you’re racing for the first time or returning to beat last year’s time, the event is designed to be welcoming, encouraging, and full of mountain energy.
Racing is typically held in The Valley, followed by a prizegiving and BBQ at the Tongariro Ski Club Whakapapa lodge.
2026 RACE DAY INFO
This year’s Tongariro Juniors race will be held on Saturday 26 September, with an entry fee of $25 per racer.
Entrants can pre‑register by emailing juniors@tongariroski.co.nz, or sign up on the day at Knoll Ridge Café from 9am.
Racing is typically held in The Valley, with a relaxed BBQ and prizegiving hosted at Tongariro Ski Club from 4pm - 6pm.
The event is open to all skiers and boarders under 18, and kids as young as four often take part.
