The Tongariro Ski Club Website has recently been upgraded which brings some new improvements to members.
These are aimed at improving communication between club members, providing a forum for sharing club news, events, messages and photos, keeping membership records current and enhancing the booking processes.
The latest improvements include:
Bunk Availability Calendar – The bunk availability calendar now includes events, so you can see what is happening on the dates you are planning to book. The event is represented by a yellow star and you can click on this to see what is taking place (e.g. club races). The calendar also reflects dates for which online bookings can not be made (shown in red).
These are for periods such as school holidays where the booking officer requires to manage the bookings manually to ensure we can best accommodate everyone. If you try and book during such periods, it will not allow you to proceed, and you will need to contact the booking officer.
Message Board – The message board has been updated so that it will show on the first page when you login. This is a great way to leave messages for other members, and is useful for carpooling, selling ski gear and other general messages. In the past this has not been so visible to members, so we hope that it will get more use.
Photos – Members can now upload photos related to club events to share with other members. It is very simple to do and is a great way to share experiences of club life. Check out the photo gallery section in the Members menu and you can add a gallery and upload photos. Approval from the committee will be required before they are displayed to the wider club community.
Automated password notification – If you forget your password, don’t worry, as you will be able to request it to be sent to your email. You will need to enter you login and email address. If you have forgotten you login as well, you can click on “don’t have a login” and a new login will be generated for you.
Keeping Membership Records Current – When you next login to the website, you will be prompted to update your profile and password. There will be a periodic reminder to do this, so your membership details are kept up to date including address details and contact number.
The next phase of developments are currently be planned to move towards an online payment and integrated accounting package. This will be a significant step in the plan to improve our booking system and club processes. Work is underway to determine what will be required to deliver this for the beginning of the 2009 season. We will keep you posted with progress.
